I tend to say primers are not always necessary for the everyday woman however the reality is they actually do help your makeup stay on longer, and since most of us have long days then they can definitely come in handy.
First of all, the primary purpose of face primer is to help achieve a smooth, even complexion whether this be to minimize redness, reduce pore size, add moisture to the skin or reduce oils. Then you are all ready for your makeup application! They help to correct minor skin imperfections based on what your specific needs are.
